Description

This course is run by Osprey Outdoors.

Please note: Each day lasts five hours, and is split up into two sessions either side of a 30-minute lunch break

You will get to explore the beautiful Avalon Marshes nature reserves and experience how relaxing and enjoyable it can be to go bird watching.

Sessions will include walks around the reserves, visiting various bird hides and learning how to identify different birds, as well as activities aimed at improving wellbeing such as nature-based mindfulness, and using your senses to notice what's around you.

No experience necessary, this course is suitable for beginners.
A positive step for your mental health.

You will:
- Meet new people
- Learn about birds as well as lots of other wildlife
- Learn techniques to help you relax and enjoy being outside
- Explore new places





  

What are the entry requirements for this course?
This course is suitable if you have completed our Developer Level in this subject or a similar subject area, or have previous experience, and want to explore further and learn more extensively.

Minibus Pick up points
Minibus Pick up points: Cheddar, (Strawberry Line Car Park) Wells (Tesco Car Park) and Glastonbury (Morrisons Car Park)
Villages along the A371 between Cheddar and Wells (if requested, at bus stops).

What will I need to bring?
You will need: packed lunch, a drink, sturdy footwear, outdoor clothes: hat, gloves, scarf, waterproofs. If you have your own binoculars and/or bird identification books or guides then please bring them along with a pen and some paper. You must possess the willingness and the ability to walk 3 miles, with stops. Help and encouragement are always provided. Please also bring photo ID with you e.g. passport or driving licence.

There is no formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will provide feedback to help you improve.
