Description
This course is run by Heads Up.
This 4-week course builds on the knowledge and skills learned in the taster session. It is the ideal way to begin creating through painting and learn about composition, colour theory, mixing paints, and the different techniques used with brushes and palette knives. The course will cover painting from photographs, to painting outside (also known as 'en plein air'), and will give you the confidence to start painting by yourself. To further your skills, sign up to the 6-week painting developer painting course.
All materials and equipment are provided, but please feel free to bring along any you might have.
Tuesdays 10am - 12pm: 13th, 20th, 27th May, 3rd June 2025.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
This course is suitable if you're a beginner and want to learn about this subject, and you don't have relevant knowledge or experience.
Venue directions
There is parking on site. There is a bus from Wells to South Horrington no. 173 which stops at the end of Upper Breach. Heads Up is 3 minutes walk from here on the left hand side. You will see a yellow defibrillator on the outside of the wall.
What will I need to bring?
Please bring an apron and wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty or messy. Please also bring photo ID with you e.g. passport or driving licence and evidence of benefits or income under £25k per annum (if not already checked with Community Learning team).
