This three-week course is aimed at beginners wanting to move away from ready meals and gain confidence in the kitchen. Cooking in this way is an essential life skill and can help you save money.

What this course explores:
- Preparing ingredients
- Making stock and basic sauces
- Reusing leftovers safely
- Different cooking techniques

We will also cover the nutritional basics to ensure you're preparing healthy and nutritious budget-friendly meals for you and your family.

What are the entry requirements for this course?
This course is suitable if you're a beginner and want to learn about this subject, and you don't have relevant knowledge or experience. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements, before the course starts.

What will I need to bring?
Bring a cookery apron if you have one to protect your clothes. Please bring a pen and some paper plus your smartphone if you have one. Please also bring photo ID with you e.g. passport or driving licence.

There is no formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will provide feedback to help you improve.
