Description
Learn how to write poems reflecting the themes of the Celtic wheel of the year.
- Grow in confidence sharing poems with the group.
- Learn about traditions from the Pagan Celtic folklore.
Each week, we'll explore a poem reflecting the theme of the Celtic Wheel Season, as well as the traditions and folklore of our Celtic ancestors. The role of the Celtic Bard was to explore and convey spiritual and philosophical matters within Celtic society through poetry, so we'll also open up a philosophical discussion around the meaning and theme of the poem.
Just like the ancient Bards of the celts, we'll light a candle and be guided through a visual meditation to call in the Celtic Spirit of Poetic inspiration (Awen), to help us write our own collective poem in the same style, by contributing one line each. There will also be an open round for each learner to read a poem they've written in the past or a favourite poem they'd like to share with the group, to help each individual grow in confidence.
