See the world through new eyes - yours! - using the camera in your pocket!
This course invites you to explore photography as a gentle, creative means of self-expression and confidence-building. It's not about technical perfection or competition, but about curiosity, play, and connection.
During this course you'll learn simple techniques for creative image making using your mobile phone camera, discover joy in experimentation, and build your confidence sharing and reflecting in a pressure-free group.
By the end, you'll be more comfortable sharing your photos, using your phone camera creatively, and expressing yourself through photography. You'll learn to see photography as a personal and mindful form of expression and recognise how creativity supports your well-being.
The course will cover the following:
- Seeing Differently - Observation, curiosity and playful seeing
- Finding Beauty in the Everyday - Composition and noticing details
- Storytelling with Images - Emotion, narrative and experimentation
- Reflection & Celebration - Confidence, reflection and creative growth
What are the entry requirements for this course?
This course is suitable if you're a beginner and want to learn about this subject, and you don't have relevant knowledge or experience.
What will I need to bring?
Please bring a Smartphone with an in-built camera to the sessions plus a notebook and pen. If you wish to bring some Christmas items (props, costumes etc) of your choice to photograph, then please do! Please also bring photo ID with you e.g. passport or driving licence.
Will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will provide feedback to help you improve.
