Description
Are you looking to go further in your understanding of how to support your child's emotional wellbeing and mental health? Have they been experiencing anxiety, dysregulation or school refusal and do they find it difficult to express what they're feeling?
When explored in a non-judgmental and accepting way, creativity can provide a method of self-expression that builds confidence and resilience in children and young people.
This course will further explain how you can support your child to express themselves and their emotions through creativity. There is no right or wrong way of creating or expressing, and your child can explore the activities in any way they choose. As the adult, you will learn how to make a creative space in which your child can feel comfortable to express themselves in their own unique way.
Learning through the experience of doing and creating alongside your child, you will both get to discover what it is like to express emotions through art, sculpture and other forms of creativity. You will be encouraged to recognise how you benefit from the process and what supportive practices are beneficial for your child.
Particularly useful for those who might benefit from an alternative form of communication to speech, for those who experience anxiety, emotional dysregulation and/or find the school environment challenging and for anyone who would like to develop a greater self-awareness and resilience.
Ideal for children aged 7 to 11 with an appropriate adult caregiver. Children to be supervised by their adult at all times.
