Description

Have you been inspired by last year's Lilo and Stitch remake? Haven't been able to get Jason Mraz out of your head since the late 00s? Want to recreate Marylin Monroe's iconic ukelele scene from Some Like It Hot?

This short course will introduce you to all the basics of ukulele playing from chords, strumming, and simple songs. You'll be able to develop your skills over the weeks by playing individually and as part of a group, building your confidence with rhythm and timing, and in performing.

The tutor-led sessions will combine demonstration, group practice, and individual tuition. You'll have the opportunity to engage in ukelele playing activities, listening tasks, and simple music theory exercises. The sessions will progress from basic skills such as tuning, to playing full songs confidently. Collaborative playing will help you to develop your performance confidence!

Ukeleles will be provided, though feel free to bring your own if you wish!
