Description
This Family Beginners Ukulele Course is a fast-paced, 4-hour introduction designed to take families from zero experience to playing popular songs together. The course focuses on building confidence in a fun, relaxed environment, making it an ideal, non-screen activity for parents and children to learn together!
Course Description: Family Ukulele Kick-Start
- Structure:(4 hours total)
- Target Audience:Absolute beginners, families (parents + kids), and children aged 7+
- Goal:To learn basic techniques, essential chords, and 1-2 popular songs to play confidently
Session 1: Getting Started & Foundations
- Introduction to the Uke:How to hold the instrument correctly, proper posture, and tuning
- Basic Anatomy:Understanding strings, frets, and body
- First Chords:Learning 1-finger chords (like C7) to get playing immediately
- Strumming Basics:Fundamental rhythm and down-strumming techniques
- Song 1:Learning a very simple, child-friendly song?
Session 2: Playing & Performing
- Expanding Chords:Adding 2-3 new chords to the repertoire
- Rhythm Patterns:Introducing simple up-and-down strumming patterns
- "Jamming" Skills:Playing together as a group ensemble
- Song 2:Developing a second, more complex song
- Performance:A mini "concert" for families to showcase what they have learned
