Description

If you're looking to build your understanding of mental health and wellbeing, this course is a great place to start. It's designed to give you in-depth knowledge that can support your work, your community, or your personal development.

You'll explore:
- Mental health legislation, services and public attitudes and how these have evolved
- How to support mental well-being through various stages of life
- Mental ill health, treatment options available and the potential consequences of mental ill health
- The skills required to work in a mental health service

This is a distance learning course, so you can study in your own time, at your own pace. You'll also have a friendly tutor to guide you, mark your work, and support you when needed.

To join, you'll need to book a CEIAG session (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance). This can be done in person or over the phone and usually takes around 30-40 minutes. If coming in person isn't possible, just give us a call on 0330 332 7997 and we'll arrange a phone appointment that works for you. Our friendly Front Door team will guide you through everything - from completing any paperwork and assessments to talking about your goals and next steps. We'll also explain more about the course, what you can expect, and help you choose a start date (subject to availability).  

Entry Requirements
You'll need access to a computer or device so you can use Microsoft Teams for tutor reviews and support. You'll also need to be able to download and upload your work as part of the course.

Assessment
You'll complete a written assignment for each unit of the course. These can be submitted as and when you finish each unit - there's no need to wait.

Your dedicated tutor, who specialises in this subject, will mark your work and give you detailed feedback to help you progress.

There are no exams for this course.
