Description

This qualification is an introduction to the knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school environment.

It can apply to the many varied roles that full and part-time support staff may fulfil including: administration, site support, technical and volunteers, as well as roles that work directly with children and young people in the learning environment.

The course is currently running online on Wednesday evenings 5-7pm.

To enrol on this course, you will be asked to book an interview session in one of our centres which should take around 60-90 minutes. If attending a session in person is not possible for you, please ring us on 0330 332 7997 to book an online session. Our friendly Customer Engagement team and a dedicated course tutor will be there to support you in completing all the necessary sign-up paperwork and assessments as required. We will also tell you more about the course, what to expect from your time with us and arrange a start date (subject to availability).

Entry Requirements
You should ideally have the equivalent of Level 1 literacy skills, however, a formal qualification is not required as this will be assessed prior to starting the course.

You will need access to the internet and a computer/laptop to complete the coursework.

Assessment
You will complete coursework to evidence and achieve the 5 mandatory units of this qualification. Your dedicated personal Tutor will support you through assessing your work and provide you with constructive feedback to help you produce the standard of evidence required. There are no exams.

Progression
On achievement of this qualification, you will gain access to further learning, including the full Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning In Schools. Completion of both courses would support progression to apprenticeship opportunities at Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard.
