We'll explore the characteristics of skilled helpers, the role of active listening, and the importance of emotional intelligence in creating meaningful connections. You'll also reflect on your own qualities to understand how self-awareness plays a key role in helping others.

What are the entry requirements for this course?
This short course is suitable if you wish to explore and learn about this subject, and perhaps you don't have relevant knowledge or experience, you should have a genuine interest in learning more about becoming a skilled helper and enhancing skills and knowledge. You may be undertaking an accredited qualification in counselling, i.e. Level 2 online distance learning and may want to explore and meet like-minded people to have the opportunity to discuss helping skills and examples. To attend this workshop you require enthusiasm and a willingness to participate and learn to enhance your skills and knowledge. You will need to have internet access and be able to join on Zoom.
What will I need to bring?
Please bring a pen and some paper. Please also bring photo ID with you e.g. passport or driving licence.
Will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will provide feedback to help you improve.
