Description
This course is run by Mind in Somerset and offers insights into the challenges faced by the transgender community and explores ways in which Society can be more inclusive. The zoom link will be sent out by Mind in Somerset after enrolment.
The aims are:
- Understand the Traditional View and Gender Identity
- Gain knowledge about The Equality Act, The Gender Recognition Act, and Criticisms of the GRA.
- Understand the Effects of Legal Gender Recognition
- Become aware of Trans Care Processes and the Journey
- Understand Social and Medical Transitions, Respecting Presentation, and Identity
- Be able to address the Challenges Faced by Trans Individuals.
- Gain knowledge surrounding the phenomenon of Hate Crimes Against Transgender Individuals.
- Understand the importance of Language in Transgender Discourse.
- Gain insights into the Desires and Needs of Transgender Individuals.
