Description
This course is run by Mind in Somerset and will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to recognise a range of mental health conditions in children and young people, gain the confidence to start a supportive conversation, understand the legal responsibilities around consent, and know when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. The zoom link will be sent out by Mind in Somerset after enrolment.
What is covered:
- Know what mental health is in regards to youth and why people develop mental health conditions
- Identify factors that can affect a young person's mental health
- Identify signs/symptoms of various Mental health conditions
- Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting with a mental health condition
- Understand legal consent and safeguarding responsibilities when working with children

This course is suitable if you have completed our Developer Level in this subject or a similar subject area, or have previous experience, and want to explore further and learn more extensively. You will need to have internet access and be able to join on Zoom.
