Description
This course is for anyone wishing to enhance their knowledge of ADHD, its possible causes and characteristics, and the strengths and challenges of those who have it.
During the course, you can find out more about the common brain differences of those with ADHD compared to neurotypical brains, the impact of executive functioning differences, more about stigma and misconceptions, and how having ADHD can influence mental health.
In each session, you will take a deep dive into different aspects of ADHD, including:
- ADHD Behaviours and Characteristics - A detailed exploration of the main characteristics of ADHD and some of their possible causes. You will also learn about common and often less acknowledged characteristics, such as emotional sensitivity.
- The ADHD Brain - uncovering the mysteries of how the ADHD brain differs from the neurotypical brain, and the impact of neurochemicals on attention, hyperactive and impulsive behaviour and other ADHD characteristics.
- ADHD and Mental Health - in this session, discover how ADHD can often be associated with depression, anxiety, chronic boredom, sleep disorders and other mental health challenges, including Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD). Learn some ways to manage these mental health challenges more easily.
- ADHD Sensory Sensitivity, Stimming and Masking - exploring more of the common characteristics of ADHD
Whether you are learning for yourself or for someone you are caring for or supporting, this course will give you new insight into ADHD and how you can even better support yourself and/or others.
