Description

This qualification is designed for learners who are looking to enter, or progress within, employment in the hospitality sector. It will enable learners to develop knowledge and understanding of customer service excellence for the hospitality sector. This course will teach you skills including how to communicate effectively, the importance of teamwork and the importance of maintaining food hygiene.

To enrol on this course, you will be asked to book an interview session in one of our centres which should take around 60-90 minutes. If attending a session in person is not possible for you, please ring us on 0330 332 7997 to book a phone call. Our friendly Customer Engagement team and a dedicated course tutor will be there to support you in completing all the necessary sign-up paperwork and assessments as required. We will also tell you more about the course, what to expect from your time with us and arrange a start date (subject to availability).  

Entry Requirements
There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification. You should ideally have the equivalent of Level 1 literacy skills, however, a formal qualification is not required as this will be assessed prior to starting the course. You will need access to the internet and a computer/laptop to complete the coursework.

You must currently live in Somerset/Dorset.
You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study.
You must be over the age of 19.
You must not be on an apprenticeship.
There is a £100 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs.

Assessment
This is an online distance-learning course. It is a level 2 course. You will receive a log in for online resources book and then you answers the questions online. You should have a willingness to complete this course online so will need access to a computer. You will have a named tutor in case you have any questions throughout the course.

You will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include a portfolio of evidence, written assignments or a task. The course is assessed via coursework, there are no exams.

Progression
You may wish to attend our other workshops and courses related to your personal development or access our Adult Skills courses. Learners who achieve this qualification could progress onto a Hospitality/catering apprenticeship, Level 3 Award in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Principles, Level 3 Certificate in Retail Knowledge or Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality.
