Description

This course is run by Chard Watch.

This course aims to provide participants with a basic understanding of peer support work, its benefits, key principles and practical skills.

The course will help you:
- Understand the core principals of Peer Support work including the Person-Centred Approach
- Understand some of the skills and qualities involved in being a Peer Support worker including communication techniques and boundaries
- Learn about the role of a Peer Support Worker

If you are interested in peer support work/volunteering, this course will provide you with a good foundation to start from.





  

What are the entry requirements for this course?
This course is suitable if you're a beginner and want to learn about this subject, and you don't have relevant knowledge or experience. There are no qualifications required for this course, just a willingness to learn. You will need to have internet access and be able to join on Zoom.

What will I need to bring?
Please also bring photo ID with you e.g. passport or driving licence.

Will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will provide feedback to help you improve.
