Description

This course is run by Carymoor Environmental Trust and is designed for anyone interested in developing their weaving skills, whilst also improving their health and wellbeing in a relaxed and friendly learning environment.

Please note: The day lasts six hours, and is split up into two sessions either side of a lunch break

With a maximum of 5 participants per course, you are guaranteed a lot of support from your tutor who will guide you through the process of making a weave basket.

Come and create a beautiful free weave bowl.

What You'll Learn:
- Grading Willow: Learn how to select and prepare the ideal willow for weaving.
- Creating the Frame: Build a solid frame as the foundation for your bowl.
- Weaving Techniques: Master adding ribs and weaving to shape and complete your basket.

If there is time we will also explore the use of additional natural materials.

What are the entry requirements for this course?
This course is suitable if you're a beginner and want to learn about this subject, and you don't have relevant knowledge or experience.

Venue directions
Follow direction signs to Carymoor when approaching from Dimmer Lane. Pay attention to the traffic lights and only enter the site when the lights are green. There is a 10mph speed limit on site.

What will I need to bring?
Lunch will not be provided, please bring your own. Please bring a pen and some paper plus your smartphone if you have one. Please also wear clothing suitable for the weather/activity and bring photo ID with you e.g. passport or driving licence.

Will I be assessed?
There is no formal assessment for this course. Your tutor will provide feedback to help you improve.
